Building Opportunities is a woman run, community based mentorship program focused on providing opportunities and resources to women in the Architect-Engineer-Construction related industries, and those wanting to break into it.
We focus on removing barriers and creating pathways by providing internship opportunities, assistance with PPE gear and OSHA training, and providing resume writing services.
What We Do

1:1 Mentorship Program
We partner you with experienced women in the industry to provide guidance, resources, and a safe sounding board as you start your career.

Resume Writing
Our volunteers come with marketing and hiring experience and are here to help you polish up your resume and increase your marketability.

Internship Program
We offer a specialized summer internship program for women just graduating high school, as well as information on local A/E/C internships in the Portland, Oregon area.

Industry Resources
Job posting boards, career fairs, job site walks and project tours throughout the Portland Metro Area, as well as information on local upcoming industry events.

OSHA Training
We believe in safety first. Our internship programs include OSHA training free of charge. We also have scholarships available for those outside of the internship program.

Monthly Meetups
One of the best things we can do is provide community. Our group has monthly meetups that provide opportunities to chat with others in the field, get to know industry partners, and continue building our community.
